Julie Wills is an artist and art theorist living and working in Gunnison, Colorado and is a member of The Bridge Club performance art group. She earned an MFA in ceramics from the University of Colorado, an MA in art criticism from the University of Montana, has been an artist-in-residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO and at Art Farm in Marquette, NE, and exhibits her work regularly.
Wills' sculptural works acknowledge the educational properties of objects and provoke analysis of the ways we intuit information about societal expectation through observation of our surroundings. Most of these works reference the body as the site and mediator of psychological and social experience, and sexuality as the site where the body and power negotiation intersect.
